August 12, 2009: Honda vehicles were awarded top honour in three different categories at the 2009 US Motorist Choice Awards, announced in California on Tuesday, 11 August.

The Honda Jazz (known as the Fit in the US) was awarded best Economy Car, the Honda Odyssey was named best Minivan, and the Honda CR-V took out the best Mid-Size Crossover SUV segment.

Honda Accord Named Most Reliable Car In UK

Honda Accord has been voted the most reliable car by British people in a new poll.

The results showed that 98.5pct owners admitted that their vehicle required no attention whatsoever last year.

In the survey conducted by Which? magazine, and involving 84000 cars, Japanese-built Honda cars took four of the top seven.

Honda Civic Tops June Sales

The Honda Civic and Ford F-Series topped Canadian new car and truck sales in June, according to industry analyst Dennis DesRosiers.

The report noted that small, entry-level vehicles are not selling any better than other segments. “These are much lower-priced, obviously, so one would think that they would be drawing in consumers from other segments,” DesRosiers said. “This may be true, but these vehicles also play to the lower quartile of consumers from an economic perspective, and these are the consumers most hurt from the recession and therefore not buying.”

J.D. Power and Associates ranked Honda highest among carmaker Web sites in satisfying new-vehicle shoppers. Honda, whose U.S. headquarters is in Torrance, earned a score of 883 out of 1,000 in the J.D. Power satisfaction index.

2010 Honda Crosstour To Arrive In The Fall

Honda is currently in the process of developing a new crossover vehicle to cover a wider range of segments in its lineup, and a number of a prototypes have been spotted testing in the U.S. in recent times. The automaker has since confirmed that the new crossover model, liked to be called the Crosstour, will go on sale in the third-quarter of the year.

Honda’s executive vice president for North America, John Mendel, has previously revealed that a crossover model will arrive “in the fall” but failed to give any other details. The Detroit Newsis now reporting that the Crosstour is set to enter production in September …
